Beach Wedding Gazebo
Exchange vows at the edge of the sea with your friends and family to witness the event. At some hotels we set up a natural four post gazebo in your desired location in the sand, canopied with billowing tuille and decorated with fresh flowers. ~ extra details make the event uniquely yours. Destination Weddings.travel and Karisma Hotels and Resorts say YES, you can have have exactly the kind of personalized wedding you want! Say no to standardized, generic wedding booked hourly at some other all-inclusive hotels.
Choose your ceremony: a civil/legal ceremony is the one that is legal in the USA, symbolic ceremony is done when a couple has completed paperwork at home or wants to renew vows. Religious ceremony is symbolic, but can be combined with a civil ceremony for legal status. Choose from two beachside chapels especially for Catholic ceremonies.
When you marry in Mexico, the emphasis is on the event, not the requirements. Getting married in Mexico is easy – very little is required. There are three main types of Wedding Ceremonies that can be performed: Legal, Religious and Symbolic.
CIVIL/LEGAL CEREMONY
Available 7 days a week, any hour you choose. If you want your marriage recognized as legal at home you must have civil ceremony, but you can combine this official portion of the ceremony with a religious ceremony if you choose. Although civil marriages performed in Mexico are legal in Mexico, you must legalize your marriage in your country of birth/residence. Do this by registering your marriage certificate at your local City Hall when you return home.
RELIGIOUS/ CATHOLIC
Catholic ceremonies are available alone or in conjunction with civil ceremonies and can only be held inside a Chapel or Church.
Requirements: add'l fee of $600 USD, the following documents must be presented for both Bride and Groom: Birth Certificates, Baptism Certificates, Confirmation Certificates, a letter issued by the Local Priest, addressed to the Priest in Cancun, allowing them to marry in Mexico.
SYMBOLIC CEREMONY
This ceremony is not recognized as legal in Mexico or your home country. Preferred by couples already married and wishing to have a wedding ceremony, thinking of a later legal ceremony date or wishing to renew vows with their loved one. Typically performed by a Non-Denominational, but can be performed, for an additional fee, by a Religious Officiant. Some ministers speak English and our professional Wedding Coordinators will translate into English.
Requirements
Advanced Hotel Stay: Bride and Groom must arrive at their hotel one full business day prior to the ceremony. IE: a Saturday ceremony, your arrival date must beThursday. Saturday and Sunday are not considered business days.
Wedding Dates & Times
Seven days a week (exception: Mexican holidays Jan. 1; Feb. 5; Easter weekend; May 1, 5; Sept. 15, 16; Nov. 1, 2, 20; Dec. 12, 24, 25, 31, Wedding time are based on daytime savings: April through September – from 11 am to 6 pm every hour/ October through March – from 11 am to 5 pm every hour. TIP: consider Mexican Holidays when reserving Legal Wedding Ceremonies as they are not be included in your three-day requirement.
