My Experience In Macau and the Venetian Macao, September '09

Venetian Macao-Resort-HotelSave Review

Oct 8, 2009

The experience I had while spending a few nights at the Venetian Macao was awesome (not to mention a few nights at the NEW Hard Rock Macau Hotel). There are just no other words for it. The pure size, decor and features include so much to see and do. Not only for those who like to shake the dice, is it the World's Largest Casino in the world, but multiply the Venetian in Las Vegas over and over and over. Three unique and beautiful canals offer the gondola rides and lined on either side are Brand Named stores and logos for the shop-a-holic. Artistic, scenic ceilings with heavenly art, carvings of gold nature everywhere and of course a food court area that relays the sky above you. As a Destination Wedding Planner, after speaking with the wedding department, I look forward to assisting a bride in an amazing Venetian Macao Destination Wedding! You can bet, I'll be coming along! They can most certainly uphold my expectations and any brides.

All rooms are suites with specialty suites available that make your mouth drop in awe. The lowest category is the Royal Suites which I had and I thoroughly enjoyed my 755 sq ft with a sunken living room. This is a room you are not in a hurry to leave. With wireless internet in the room, which I did NOT use, there is room to entertain with or just spread out belongings and relax. Did I mention 24-hour in-suite dining? It's hard to leave the room, but also hard not to because of the sheer beauty and public areas to wander in. The Grand Canal Shoppes are a draw and offer everyone something. Yes, I found a few sales so don't hesitate to shop til you drop. The food court offers a wide variety of food choices from around the world. There's a great morning buffet that will get your morning started. They've also got a mini 18-hole golf course to fool around on. Now guys, you will want to see the first Asia Inter-Active Football experience so step into the booths of your favorite football hero. Have the kids visit the Qube play zone and see if they are willing to leave with you later. Don't get your feelings hurt when they say no. They've got over 9,000 feet to play in so don't get jealous.

Don't hesitate to go out, cross a bridge and enjoy the foundation Portugese dining. My top two recommendations: Henri's and Antonios. Smaller establishments with real Portugese pride and dressing up not required. I could never tell when the food was going to end, my biggest challenge was saving room for the next dish and trying to decide between a variety of wonderful Portugese wines and ports.

While I was there the Venetian had a concert featuring "Fahrenheit". Check in advance and see what concerts are there. I encountered the teens and girls screaming with delight and holding flashing signs. They happened to be at the airiport when I was leaving....oh to be young again! Shows and concerts are on going, you can check their website for entertainment coming.

The new Malo Clinic, the world’s largest integrative wellness centre is there now. I watched their presentation and walked through the 85,000 square feet. So visit Macau, stay at the Venetian and have a few appointments at the Malo Clinic Spa with a host of beauty services and medical offerings.

Along with ticketed entertainment, the Venetian offers the "Ziai" which is a new 90-minute show created bu Cirque de Soleil. I had trouble following a story line, but it offers the colors, artists, stars, dance and more. One of my favorite sights was the Dragon's Treasure, a stand up light show you watch in a dome. If you walk all the canals and shops, you'll find adjoining the Venetian is the Four Seasons Macau for a more intimate stay for those Four Season addicted travelers. And of course the Venetion Macau has a lineup of Mercedes S350L and a hotline you can call to reserve your pickup!

Hotels I also inspected and recommend: Hard Rock Hotel Macau and Crown Towers, MGM Grand Macau, Four Seasons Hotel Macau, Wynn Macau, Grand Hyatt -- Just Opening, Caesars Golf Club Macau, Macau Tower & team building facilities.

Other Sites Explored:  Taipa House Museum, Taipa Village, St. Pauls, Lighthouse, A-MaTemple, Senado Square, Macau International Firewords Display Contest between Italy and Philippines. Call for Macau Destination Weddings 2010 and Macau Destination Weddings 2011! Dec. 2009: Fiji Destination Weddings & Honeymoons!

I arrived at the Nadi International Airport with the greeting of "Bula" from almost everyone I met.  The number one word to learn in Fiji and will always be accompanied with a sincere smile.  After clearing through immigration and customs formalities (stand back and relax while you wait for your bag, which you are sure will be the absolutely last thing loaded off the plane) I was met with a cold bottle of water, a cool scented hand towel and a shell lei.  Now that I am home, I can only say I was leid in Fiji dozens of times and each one was authentic and from the heart!

My mission was to discover and explore some of the best resorts in the Fijian Islands for Destination Weddings, honeymoons and romantic getaways!  Photos always speak a thousand words, but here is the list of resorts I personally visited and in many cases, spent the night.   I also had the amazing experience of being the bride in an authentic Fijian Wedding, a sacred and once-in-a-lifetime experience.  I visited the following resorts in my search and went by planes, water taxi, road, sea plane, kayak, by foot and golf cart.  Between brand new resorts just opening - including overwater bungalows to revisiting treehouse villas, seeing Meg Ryan and Oprah to enjoying a seaplane landing and take off.  Once-in-a-lifetime experiences await you in Fiji .

On this visit to Fiji, I included  Vatulele Island Resort, Royal Davui Resort, Qamea Island Resort, Matangi Island Resort, Paradise Taveuni Resort, Taveuni Island Resort, Maravu Plantation Resort, Jean Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort, Namale Resort & Spa, Likuliku Island Resort, Outrigger on the Lagoon, Shangri-La's Fijian Resort, Sheraton Fiji Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas, The Westin Fiji Resort & Spa, the Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island.
