Wedding Flowers or NOT!

BRIDESMAID CORSAGES:
Instead of purchasing a full bouquet for each bridesmaid, consider the simple alternative of using a corsage. They are less expensive than bouquets, which can make a difference in a large and small bridal party. There are many different styles of corsages and ways of wearing them! Example: instead of wearing them on your wrist, wear them on your upper arm, ankle, both very trendy. Arrange with your wedding colour palette then have fun DIY. Find corsage and flower photos on line!
SILK FLOWERS: Some people may hesitate to consider using fake flowers for their wedding, but I’ve been to several weddings where the bride and groom chose to use silk flowers and people were amazed at how real they looked. Also, if you go with this option you can both buy them from people who previously used them for their wedding and sell them to people after your wedding – it’s a win-win all around.
SUCCULENT BOUTONNIERES: Creating a boutonniere out of succulents is simple and unique!  An assortment of succulent boutonnieres with textural elements such as thistle, tallow berry, lavender, flower pods, and ghost leaves. Make one of a kind boutonnieres for every member of your bridal party. Learn how to make your own with this step-by-step guide.

FLORAL ACCENT:

Who said you have to have flowers?  Real  or or fake? Consider the element of flowers in other ways, like a floral print overlay for tables in your reception hall. Another way to add une touche de fleur is to incorporate it into your bridal wear. Several wedding dresses and suites  feature floral aspects, from floral appliqués on a wedding dress or veil, floral print bridesmaid dresses.

Bejeweled Bouquets

Bejeweled may be the wrap only of your bouquet or it may be the bouquet in it's entirety.  As a bride-to-be, telling family members you will be creating a Bejeweled Bouquet and would welcome small ornaments makes it a family affair.  Yard sales, vintage stores, dollar stores and more often hold treasures along with making your own!

SINGLE STEM FLOWERS:

For those who cannot part with real flowers, use single stems of flowers! For example, instead of a whole bouquet for each bridesmaid, purchase one bouquet of single stem flowers for each bridesmaid to carry a single flower. Single roses, tulips, and peonies create a very delicate and romantic look and this is a hot trend now more than ever.
